CLASS XII STUDENTS SYSTEMATIC TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMME - STEP

 We offer a three-year Programme for students who have passed Class XII.

The Systematic Training and EducationProgramme -STEP includes

 comprehensive on-the-job training at select Oberoi and Trident Hotels

 along with a correspondence Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Studies

 from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

·         Hotel Operations Programme - Front Office and Food & Beverage Service

·         Hotel Operations Programme - Housekeeping

·         Hotel Operations Programme - Kitchen

BENEFITS

In keeping with The Oberoi Group's philosophy of training and

developing it's people, The Oberoi Centre of Learning and

 Development invests time, effort and money in candidates

selected for the three year STEP Programme.

Selected candidates will be enrolled into the

 Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) - Bachelor of Tourism Studies.

This investment includes all expenses on IGNOU course

fee and books, accommodation, duty meals, transportation, medical insurance and uniforms.

Selected candidates are paid a monthly allowance during the training period.

The programme includes a dedicated study day once a week,

 three weeks study leave to take IGNOU exams and three weeks annual leave.

On successful completion of the STEP Programme, trainees will receive

a Bachelor of Tourism Studies degree from IGNOU and a

Certificate of Proficiency from The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development.

The programme prepares candidates to join

The Oberoi Group as Operations Assistant at our hotels.

ELIGIBILITY

The programme will commence in July 2024.

Candidates should be above 18 and below 20 years of age,

as on 15th August, of the year of joining the Programme.

·         Clear pass in Class XII as on 1st July, of the year of joining, from a Board               recognized by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), India.

·         The programmes requires a Class X English score of 70% or above. The equivalent in CBSE is a B2 Grade or a 7 Grade Point or above.

The Government of India decided to Institute an award to recognize the excellent work done by individuals and Institutions in India in the field of Disaster Management like Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness, Rescue, Response, Relief, Rehabilitation, Research/ Innovations or Early Warning. The award shall be designated as “ Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar Award.”

Eligibility

1. Only Indian nationals and Indian institutions are eligible to apply for the award.

2. For institutions, voluntary organisations, corporate entities, academic/research institutions, response/ uniformed forces or any other institution may apply as an institution for the award.

3. The Individual/Institution for the award must have worked in the area of Disaster Management like Prevention, Mitigation, Preparedness, Rescue, Response, Relief, Rehabilitation, Research/ Innovations or Early Warning related work in India.

4. The application must be accompanied by details of the work done in disaster management and must highlight achievements in anyone or more of the following areas:

a)  Saving human lives

b)  Reduction in impact of disasters in terms of loss of lives, live stock, livelihoods, property and adverse socio-economic effects on communities

c)  Mobilisation and provision of resources for effective response during disasters

d)  Immediate relief work in disaster hit areas and communities

e)  Effective and innovative use of technology in any field of disaster management

f)  Disaster mitigation initiatives in hazard prone areas

g) Capacity building of communities for response and risk reduction

h) Early warning systems and dissemination of disaster risk information to people on real time basis

i)  Scientific/ technical research and innovation in any field of disaster management

j)  Post-disaster recovery and rehabilitation

k) Continued availability of critical infrastructure and basic services during disasters

l) Creating awareness among the masses for preparedness against disaster

m) Any other area related to Disaster Risk Management

 

Decoration

In case the winner being an institution, it shall receive a certificate and a cash prize of Rs.51 lakhs. This cash prize shall be utilized by the winning institution for Disaster Management related activities only.

In case of the winner being an individual, winner shall receive a certificate and a cash prize ofRs.5.00 lakhs.

Who can nominate ?

Any individual and institution can nominate an individual or institution for the award. The application for the same can be filed between 1st July to 31st August each year.

Selection Process

A Screening Committee may be constituted by Member secretary/ member, NDMA to screen all the application received. This Screening Committee shall vet the applications for eligibility and completeness. It may also verify the authenticity of work claimed to have been done by the candidates. After this, the Screening Committee shall place the applications before Jury.

Ceremony Details

The award shall be announced on 23rd January each year, on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
