Grade I- New Text book

New Text books for grades1, 6 and 9 will be released by middle or end of march.
Schools will receive a copy of the Text book in PDF format in March if text books are
not published then No new text books for other classes.
For Classes 5 and 8 “No Detention Policy” will not be applicable from 2024. The
student has to score 25% marks in Theory and should have 75% Attendance.
Language Policy- based on NEP 2020 Multilingualism is the main focus. Lot of
emphasis is laid on the the native language.
Grade 9 will study 3 languages (R1, R2, R3) . One foreign language (English) and another language
language can be the native lang. Hindi/ Sanskrit etc. and 3rd language will be a regional
lang /native lang. Two languages should be native to India
Students of grade 9 will have to study 10 subjects. 3 languages, 3 core subjects
science, math and social science and 4 skill sub- IT/ AI, Phy.Edn, Art Edn, Env. Edn
If a child wants to learn French / German, it can be taken as additional sub. Which
will be 11th sub. A student has to pass in all 10 subjects (3 lang +3 core +4 skill sub ) to be declared
as pass.
For Class 11
2 languages and 4 Core subjects
2 languages include 1 foreign language (Eng) and 1 native language.
Four Core subjects include Phy, chem, bio, /maths, accountancy, etc.
French can be taken as 7th sub.
Board Exam- There will be 2 board exams for 10 and 12. One in Nov/Dec and the
other in Feb/ March. It is not semester-wise exam. The syllabus to be covered by
end of Oct if children would like to take exams in Nov. The child has the option of
writing the exam either in Nov/Dec or Feb /March.
A child can appear for the board exam either in Nov or in March or if the child wants
to take few exams in Nov and the rest in March can do so. The child has the option
of improving his performance if he wants in March. A child appearing for Nov Exam,
the results Mark sheets will be available after March. Practicals to be conducted in
Jan.
SAFAL: CBSE has introduced SAFAL exam for grade 5 and 8 to test the competency level
of the students. All Schools affiliated to CBSE should register the school for SAFAL before 20th Feb.
Children who will be stepping into 9th this year will be undergoing these changes.
National Credit Frame work—Students are to be credited for their study hours spent
per year. All these credits are deposited in student’s Digi locker.
Each year will have 800 hours of study and 30 hrs is one credit point
All CBSE Schools should strictly adhere to start new session from 1st April and not
earlier than April.
FLN- introduction of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Curriculum
Curriculum- Reduction in curriculum since the pandemic. 30% syllabus is reduced to
focus on critical thinking, Interactive classes, and Experiential learning.
