Dear students

We hope you and your family are safe and dealing with the current global pandemic in the best possible manner. Indeed the situation we find ourselves in is unprecedented and has posed before all unforeseen challenges.

You cannot go out, get together with friends is ruled out, the schools are closed and at your age staying indoors and remaining confined within the four walls of your homes is surely not easy. However you must have realised the invincible power of the human spirit that readily adapts to any change and constantly innovates to make life better.

Launching online classes is one such effort in the field of school education. It is heartening to note the smooth transition you have made to digital learning. It is expected that you keep yourself abreast with the changes CBSE has made in the syllabus.

You must also be attuned to the alternate academic calendar, NCERT has designed for the students in order to help them tide through these critical times. Stay in touch with your teachers for guidance. Every student is accountable now for his studies and his academic progress. We are all there with you, literally just a phone call or an email away. All Kendriya Vidyalayas have an email id, solely dedicated to online counselling. You can reach out to us with any query you might have on academic transaction.

"If you can't go out, go within."

This is current age mantra. Practice yoga, take time out for meditation, read books that give you food for thought and connect with your inner self. Use this time to talk to your parents, grandparents and other relatives. You will be amazed to discover in them a profound wisdom and some lessons for life that no book can ever teach you. The triumph of humanity lies in transforming problems into opportunities.

You are at the threshold of a global overhaul. The new developments happening around are opening up fresh avenues and newer opportunities. Grab them with both your hands and let your full potential be unleashed. Remember tough times don't last, tough people do.

Keep yourselves motivated, stay connected with one another through digital platform, make a schedule for studies that you must sincerely follow and channelise your mind in fruitful creative activities.

Dear parents

We trust you and your family are safe and keeping good health. The Covid 19 pandemic has affected people all over the world in unthinkable ways. The education system has undergone a considerable change and online classes have been introduced in schools to ensure the academic progress of our children does in no way get hampered. We are happy at the enthusiastic response we have received from you and the effortless transition our children have made to this new digital system of teaching- learning process. The children at the primary level need extra care and personal attention. Both the teachers and the parents have a crucial role to play in orienting the children to this new style of learning. This calls for a pro active coordination between the teachers and the parents.

Our teachers are well equipped to transact the content effectively in this stipulated time . We look forward to you playing a bigger role once the screen is turned off. Every Kendriya Vidyalaya has an email id, exclusively for online counselling. You can reach out to the teachers, discuss with them the lessons, get ideas on how to make learning joyous and how to organise activities that make learning both conceptual and fun. Let us have a stronger parent - teacher network in order to help our children learn effectively.

You must be aware that NCERT has developed an alternative academic calendar for maintaining the continuity of learning. Let us explore this well researched document which aims at facilitating learning at home through innovative and interesting activities.

Moreover, dear parents, you would agree that education is not merely confined to textbooks and syllabus. There is a wide gamut of wisdom waiting to be discovered by our children beyond the pages of their books.

We are sure you would spend quality time with the precious little ones, talk to them about your experiences of life, narrate to them stories, indulge them in simple yogic exercises, inspire them to pursue their hobbies of drawing, painting, reading and singing, etc., listen to them with compassion and join them in their wild creative pursuits. We look forward to your co-operation in this regard.

Stay safe, healthy and happy.

Vipin Kumar,
