SADAK SURAKSHA - JEEVAN RAKSHA:18th January 2021 to 17th February 2021.
There is a need for the society at large to take cognizance of the issue and to join hands to make road safety a social movement. To give all the stakeholders an opportunity to take part in concerted action for the cause. "Road Safety Week" is observed throughout the country every year in order to highlight and emphasize the need for safe roads. lt is also an opportunity for all stakeholders to contribute to the cause by taking up activities to promote the concept. This year instead of "Road, Safety Week", a month-long campaign "National Road Safety Month" will be observed from 18th January 2021 to 17th February 2021. The theme of this year is, "Sadak Suraksha- Jeevan Raksha".

- With a view to encourage, popularize and inculcate scientific temper among the children of the country, NCERT organizes national level science exhibition every year where children showcase their talents in science and mathematics and their applications in different areas related with our everyday life.
- The first Science Exhibition was jointly organized under the banner of the National Science Exhibition for Children in 1971, by the NCERT and the University Grants Commission (UGC) at Delhi. The subsequent National Science Exhibitions for Children have been organized by NCERT alone.
- From 1972 to 1978, the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund collaborated with the NCERT in its efforts to popularise Science Exhibitions by jointly sponsoring the National and State Level Science Exhibitions.
- In 1988 with the birth centenary celebration of Jawaharlal Nehru, the National Science Exhibition was renamed as the 'Jawaharlal Nehru National Science Exhibition for Children'. This year being celebrated as Year of Mathematics and to give more emphasis on environment-related issues, this exhibition is now renamed as Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE) for Children.
- In order to ensure the widest possible participation and involvement of students and teachers in the programme, NCERT organises exhibition in two phases. In the first phase, exhibitions are held in each and every state and union territory from the district, to the state level.
- This first phase is known as State Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition (SLSMEE) for Children. All participating states, union territories and other educational organisations like CBSE (for its affiliated independent public schools), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, DAE Central Schools and Demonstration Multipurpose Schools of NCERT forward their selected entries to NCERT for consideration for participation in the National Exhibition –
- the second phase of NCERT's organizing Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibitions. The national Exhibition – now called JNNSMEE – is organized every year by the NCERT in a state/UT, on rotation basis. The exhibits for display in this national exhibition are selected at NCERT on the basis of a notified criterion.

Book Reviews
I was born into a family of teachers deep down in a village if I mentioned the name probably you’d not even locate it on Google Maps. Either way that’s my home.
Growing up the best and most consistent advice I got accustomed to was to read as much as
I could. It was my ticket to freedom and a better life. I am not sure that is the case but
I took it seriously. Reading and learning became synonymous in my vocabulary. Contrary
to the line of thought that accompanied the advice, I was into books because of my desire
to experience life in its totality. When the best place you ever hear about on Christmas
when your uncle comes home is Nairobi the only way to live the life and experience
the world was through books. I enjoyed reading and imagining the places where
these characters lived and most importantly I was curious to know if these things
were really real. I hope you get what I mean.
Later in life, I gained the ability to critically think and analyze concepts, make
deductions and have an opinion of my own. This coupled with my love for books
is why I have decided to read and put these to my context based on my experiences,
those of the people I have come across in my lifetime and the narratives
I’ve had the privilege to capture.
This is a journey in reading, analyzing, contextualizing and rewriting in the
simplest form I can imagine
