1. Please visit and browse through library, books and the blog regularly.  
2.  Get maximum books of your interest issued as per library rules and return on time.
3. Read and recommend the books to the students/ Library also cited in your chapters.
4. Actively participate in the Readers club activities of club to which you are a member or otherwise encourage your team to read and present book reviews in note book/ class room / morning assembly and on the blog as per the need/ event.
5. Visit and participate in all the book exhibitions organized by Library as per plan displayed / announcements and make maximum use of it.
6. Utilize the library resources to its maximum for teaching learning. Your seats are reserved in Teachers corner.  
7. A Target of mini. 12 books / year/ Tr. should   be achieved in a session excluding your subject related books.

APPENDIX ‘B’

Criteria for assessment of different aspects of Vidyalaya for the summary of Inspection :

1.  Morning Assembly S tandard, Games/Sports, scout-guides, Education Tour/CCA activities :

   a)   Arrival and Departure of students from morning assembly ground.
   b)  Cleanliness of student’s uniform and time management.
   c)  Playing of Musical instruments.
   d) Quality of morning assembly items especially teacher talk, spl. Items by teachers/Principals/students/
   e)  Discipline and other activities like – Scout Guide role, seating arrangement, teachers role etc.
f)       Standard of infrastructure available for games and sports
g)      Mass involvement of pupils in all these activities
h)       Quality of records maintained in these areas – both KV level and student level
i)         Effectiveness of external coaching, internal training, in these activities
j)         Achievement/participation of pupils in these activities at National/International level   

2.  Status of CMP implementation in Primary Section:

   a)  Level of awareness amongst Primary teachers about CMP.
   b)  Development of Teaching Learning Material resources by the teachers.
   c)  Actual utilization of TLM resources/work sheets by teachers in classroom transaction
   d)  Level of enablement of HM & Primary teachers by Principal on CMP.
   e)  Conduct of film shows, sports/games activities, Bal Mela etc. exclusively for Primary children under CMP.

3.  General performance of teachers in r/o classroom teachingInnovation/experimentation and  Projects undertaken in different classes of the KV:

  a)  Whether the atmosphere of Innovation exists in the Vidyalaya.
  b)  Whether teachers are planning their lessons and going as per their plan.
  c)  Whether computer aided teaching is being taken up.
  d)   Whether teachers are using audio Visual/teaching aids.
  e)   Whether the teaching is child centric.
  f)  Whether school has laid out a well thought out plan for experimentation/innovation/project.       Whether   collaborative projects are given due importance
  g)    Whether teachers are adopting innovative practices in methodology as well as teaching aid.
  h)   Maintenance of records of the projects/innovation/experimentation undertaken by the teachers and role of school in encouraging the culture of innovation.
  i)   Whether innovation/experimentation has resulted in any significant change in teaching learning process of school
  j)  Whether the assessment of project/innovation/experimentation is judicious and appropriate  feedback has been given to students/teachers for any course correction.

4.  Monitoring of C.W./H.W. checking and follow up:

  a)  Whether quality and quantum of CW/HW is adequate
  b)  Whether frequency of CW/HW checking is as per KVS norms
  c)  Whether instructions have been issued to those teachers who are not checking CW/HW as per prescribed norms.
  d)  Whether CW/HW checking is casual in nature or it is done properly with correction and comments.
  e)   Whether follow up work has been done by students.


5.  Functioning of Labs (Sr. Sec, Jr. Science, Maths, Computer):
   
 a)  Whether equipments/materials are adequate and appropriately arranged in cupboards/shelves and shelf wise inventories are displayed on the cupboard.  Whether condemnation of unserviceable items is done in time thus making lab free from unserviceable/broken items.
 b) Whether proposed activities are displayed prominently in labs and are properly spaced throughout the academic session.
 c)  Whether preparation of allotment and completion chart has been done and displayed in the lab so that students can perform practicals accordingly.
 d) Whether the list of experiments planned is actually being followed.  Level of guidance provided by teachers and quality of records maintained by students and its assessment by teachers.
 e)  Whether Science and Maths teaching in secondary classes is activity based as prescribed by NCERT/CBSE and the KVS manuals.   
             
6.   Working of evaluation system and subject committees :

 a)  Whether subject committee meetings are held regularly and its effectiveness.
 b)  Whether evaluation has been done as per KVS direction and whether answer scripts were shown to the parents.
 c)  Whether blue print for setting of question paper was prepared from class VI to IX and XIth for  unit test and half yearly examination and whether it was known to students.
 d) Whether scoring key and modal answers were prepared for unit test and half yearly examination. Whether evaluation was done accordingly.
 e)  Whether class test topic-wise has been planned for Xth and XIIth class students and record is being maintained by subject teachers.

7.  Programme for Bright/Weak students :

 a)   Whether bright and weak students have been identified in the beginning of the session.
 b)   Whether CW/HW note book of weak students are being checked properly by teachers.
 c)   Whether subject teachers are in touch with the parents of weak students.
 d)   Whether remedial classes are being arranged for weak students.
 e)   Whether limited subject content has been identified for weak students.

8Functioning of Library as per KVS library policy :

(a)   Whether sufficient books are available in the library for students and teachers.  Whether  outdated and unserviceable books have been condemned.
(b)   Whether KVS library policy is being followed in letter and spirit.
(c)    Whether book review system is being followed and record is being maintained.
(d)   Whether class library system is working effectively.
(e)    Whether sufficient books for class library are being purchased.
                                                                                                             
9.   Class supervision and monitoring by Principal/VP/HM and follow up :              

a)      Whether frequency of class-supervision by Principal is adequate and is recorded in the supervision-diary.
b)      Whether frequency of class-supervision by VP & HM is adequate and is properly recorded.
c)      Whether the suggestions given are pinpointed/contextual or sweeping in nature.
d)      Whether suggestions given are adequately followed up in continual supervision process.
e)      Whether issues arising out of supervision exercise are discussed at a common platform like staff meeting for systemic improvement.


10.   Use of Technology in teaching and learning:

a)    Whether the KV has adequate ICT infrastructure to leverage technology in for classroom transaction.
b)   The extent of computer aided teaching, technology aided learning methodology employed in all classes.
c)   Whether technology is impacting the quality of classroom transaction and extent thereof.
d)   Whether school is creating a data bank of power point/multi media presentations duly arranged for use by other teachers.
e)   Whether resources developed/acquired with the school are shared by all teachers/students.

11.   School website and regular updation:

      a)    The arrangement of menus and sub menus & content there in
      b)    The frequency of updation and content
      c)     Qty of learning material content on website – including ThinkQuest.
      d)     The extent to which website is R.T.I. compliant  
      e)      Dynamic features and creativity

12.   Interaction between Vidyalayas & parents i.e. functioning of PTA for improvement in academic & other fields :
     
a)                              Whether PTA has been formed.
b)                              Whether PTA meetings are conducted regularly in the best interest of the Vidyalaya.
c)                              Effectiveness of PTA in improving the academic standard of the KV.
d)      Whether PTA is helpful in solving related issues/problems, other than academics; for overall development of the Vidyalaya.
e)      Status of relationship between parents and teachers.

13.   Effectiveness of spoken English programme :

a)       Selection of appropriate vocabulary
b)       Scope and medium used – Dialogues, Drama, Speech etc.
c)       Whether the interaction between teacher and students in different periods is in Eng. If so, the extent
d)       Concrete plan and action to improve the Spoken English of teacher and student
e)       Ability to speak in any context without external assistance

14.   Cleanliness and upkeep of Vidyalaya Plant and development of lawns and environmental awareness.  Maintenance of furniture, electric fixtures and basic amenities:

a)        The adequacy and standard of furniture, electric fixtures and components of basic amenities
b)      Whether sweeping and gardening services have been privatized and agreement has been made
c)       Cleanliness of toilets and disposed of garbage and working of drainage system.  Cleanliness of classrooms, libraries, labs, grounds etc.  System of monitoring cleanliness.
d)     White wash/colour wash status of the Vidyalaya, condition of the school building.
e)      Steps taken for ensuring water supply, water harvesting, water recycling and water management. 

15.   Maintenance of office records and functioning of the office:

a)      Whether service book, personal records and office records are updated
b)      Whether data is sent regularly to RO and HQ. & without mistakes
c)       The extent of office automation and bilingual competence in office work
d)      Compliance of O.L. Committee norms, functioning of various committees and cells.
e)      Status of Finance related records and observation of office procedures

16.  Vidyalaya Result: Average of all classes except X & XII and action taken for improvement:

     a)   Whether Subject Committee Meetings are held to improve the performance of students in continuous and comprehensive evaluation done at the Vidyalaya level for various classes.
     b)  Whether the subject wise result was analyzed and common conceptual errors made by the students were discussed in the Subject Committee Meetings.
    c)   Whether the internal result for all the classes except class X and XII analyzed in term of performance of students and teachers and new action plan was prepared to improve upon this through Vidyalaya level/cluster level/regional level training programmes.
   d)   Whether any support/learning material was provided to the students for their conceptual clarity.
   e)  Whether topic/chapter wise concepts were identified and teachers were consulted for preparing lesson plan in order to have conceptual clarity among students as well as teachers.  

17.   PI of X class and action taken for improvement:

     a)   Steps taken for identification of slow learners and steps taken for improvement
