CAREER CARDS - CwSN NEP 2020

 


On 31st March 2026, Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education launched the Career Cards for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) at Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi. He emphasised the vision of Hon'ble Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan ji in implementing the mandate of NEP 2020 through inclusive classrooms.  

By extending opportunities for equitable career pathways, lifelong learning and active participation in the workforce for CwSN, DoSEL seeks to ensure that no learner is left behind in the journey towards Viksit Bharat. 

This initiative has been developed by UNICEF in collaboration with Pratham Education Foundation, NCERT, PSSCIVE and National Institutes for Disabilities. Senior officials from the Ministry, autonomous bodies including CBSE, KVS, NCERT, NVS and representatives from UNICEF were present during the launch.

These Career Cards are designed to advance inclusive career awareness and guidance for CwSN across all categories of disabilities.

KVS Foundation Day-15 Dec 2025- Distinguished Alumni -WELCOME

Proud to be KVian






KVS Foundation Day will be celebrated on 15th December 2025 in a befitting and dignified manner by inviting illustrious alumni
inspiring retired teachers and staff, officers, Chairmen/Nominee Chairman of VMCs, parents, and other key stakeholders. 
Adequate arrangements for drinking water, tea, coffee, and light refreshments should be made for all dignitaries. 
All illustrious alumni may be invited formally through letters, emails, or telephonic invitations. KV s may organize interaction sessions where distinguished alumni share their journey, achievements, and messages with current students. 
The programme should be less cultural and more educational, highlighting the landmark journey of KVS, flagship initiatives, NEP /NCF implementation, and innovative practices adopted by schools. 
Celebrations should ensure no financial burden and minimal academic interruption. 

Dear Illustrious Alumni

  1. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will be celebrating its Foundation Day on .15th December 2025. 
  2. As part of the programme, KVS HQ intends to showcase brief messages from distinguished alumni who have excelled in various fields and continue to bring pride to KVS. 
  3. In this regard, all Regional Offices are requested to identify 1-2 distinguished alumni from their region (duration: 30-45 seconds). 
  4. Highlighting their association with KVS and its contribution to their personal and professional growth. 
  5. The video may be recorded using a mobile phone, preferably in a horizontal frame with clear audio. 
  6.  The videos may please be sent by 04 December 2025.



History of KVS


  • The Kendriya Vidyalayas was approved in November 1962 by the Govt. of India in NOV 1962 on the recommendations of the 2nd CPC (Central Pay Commission).

  • Wherein it was clearly mentioned to set up an institution to the wards of transferable Central Government employees and to provide uninterrupted schooling during the academic session. 

  • In view of the recommendation, 20 regimental schools were opened during the academic year 1963-64. Initially, it was established in the area where huge numbers of defense employees were deployed. 

  • KVS was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860) on 15th December 1965.

  • The primary aim of the Sangathan is as follows: 

  • To provide, establish, endow, maintain, control and manage the Central Schools (Kendriya Vidyalayas) located all over India and abroad. 

  • This foundation month as amay as 85 more KVs approved to be setup very soon across the country.

Vision

  • KVS believes in imparting knowledge/values and nurturing the talent, enthusiasm and creativity of its students for seeking excellence through high-quality educational endeavors.

  1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education;
