MAN DIAGNOSED WITH EYE CANCER BECAUSE OF DOING THIS AT NIGHT !

40-year-old man was diagnosed with eye cancer with pinkeye. There are many scientific studies indicate that green light from mobile screen can result in death of human’s retinal cells, affect our vision. When we use mobile phone in dim light condition for a long time, electron beam will shine directly into our eye, it will make conjunctival become prolonged dry, cause eye cancer and blind.
This unnamed 40-year-old man visited the doctor when he couldn’t see clearly, albumen turned red because of serious injuries. Whereby, he always use mobile phone for 30 minutes in the dark before going to sleep. It was prolonged, made his macular’s eye degraded, lead to impaired vision and signs of eye cancer.
The doctors can’t seem to do anything in this case because replacing retina is an extremely difficult job for our current medicine.

extraordinary teachers are extraordinary for another reason

Most of us would agree that excellent teachers are masters of their subject matter. They know how to challenge, engage and inspire students, too.

But extraordinary teachers are extraordinary for another reason: They know that patience, kindness and mindfulness are transcendental values that must be present in themselves, their classrooms, and their students.

Ten Characteristics of Extraordinary Teachers*

The International Center for Leadership in Education has recently completed a study of what makes a teacher extraordinary. The study was built on three earlier studies that explored (a) the reasons some schools had high-achieving students in spite of high poverty and other markers that seem to preclude success, (b) the ways these schools were able to close the achievement gap between advantaged and disadvantaged students, and (c) the observations of students in these studies who were interviewed about their learning and their teachers’ teaching.

From these explorations, the new study identifies 10 characteristics of extraordinary teachers:

1.    Student-Teacher Relationships. The teacher creates an atmosphere of mutual respect in which students and teachers are involved together in the learning process.

2.    Commitment to Student Success. The teacher believes and acknowledges that all students will succeed and works to accomplish this success.

3.    Passion, Enthusiasm, and Competence. The teacher demonstrates an infectious interest and passion in the subject matter and relays that attitude to students, staff, and other adults.

4.    Awareness of Time. The teacher provides bell-to-bell instruction in the classroom and plans time to ensure that the curriculum is covered within the semester or school year.

5.    Exceptional Organization. The teacher has systems (often self-designed) for maximizing instructional time.

6.    Seamless Use of Tools and Opportunities. The teacher has at hand a full complement of instructional strategies and is able to take advantage of classroom opportunities to extend discussion and understanding.

7.    High Verbal Skills, Clear Voice. The teacher has a widely developed vocabulary, a clear voice, and the ability to explain concepts well.

8.    Sense of Theatre. The teacher holds the students’ attention through a style that includes a sense of theater, an awareness of audience, and an atmosphere of liveliness.

9.    Experience. The teacher demonstrates maturity gained though several years of teaching.

10.  Pleasantly Neurotic. The teacher is likely on occasion to bend rules or change procedures in order to benefit students, but is, at the same time, a team player and not a rabble-rouser.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 15 June

The global population of people aged 60 years and older will more than double, from 542 million in 1995 to about 1.2 billion in 2025. Around 4 to 6% of elderly people have experienced some form of maltreatment at home. Elder maltreatment can lead to serious physical injuries and long-term psychological consequences. The incidence of abuse towards older people is predicted to increase as many countries are experiencing rapidly ageing populations.
Elder abuse is a global social issue which affects the health and human rights of millions of older persons around the world, and an issue which deserves the attention of the international community.
The United Nations General Assembly, in its resolution 66/127, designated June 15 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It represents the one day in the year when the whole world voices its opposition to the abuse and suffering inflicted to some of our older generations............

On this Day, I call upon Member States and civil society to strengthen their resolve and redouble their efforts to eliminate all forms of violence and abuse against older people."
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

World Environment Day-5 June

A PLATFORM FOR ACTION
World Environment Day (WED) is the United Nations’ most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Since it began in 1974, it has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries.

THE PEOPLE’S DAY
Above all, WED serves as the ‘people’s day’ for doing something to take care of the Earth or become an agent of change. That ‘something’ can be focused locally, nationally or globally; it can be a solo action or involve a crowd – everyone is free to choose.

THE THEME
Each WED is organized around a theme that focuses attention on a particularly pressing environmental concern. WED 2016 is themed on the illegal trade in wildlife under the slogan‘Go Wild for Life'. The logo and other materials are available for download here.

THE HOST
Every WED has a different global host country, where the official celebrations take place. WED highlights the environmental challenges facing that country, and supports the effort to address them. This year’s host is Angola.

EVERY ACTION COUNTS
Through decades of WED celebrations, millions of people from all over the world and from all sectors of society have taken part in environmental action. By bundling their energy, WED has the power to generate hugely positive impacts on the planet.

In its resolution, the General Assembly also noted that the family has the primary responsibility for the nurturing and protection of children and that children, for the full and harmonious development of their personality, should grow up in a family environment and in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.
The resolution recognizes the role of parents in the rearing of children and invites Member States to celebrate the Day in full partnership with civil society, particularly involving young people and children.
